Year Three, Day One

Yesterday was our 2 year anniversary.

It began at 3:30 am, when I woke up for work. Spencer came to Starbucks for my 'lunch' break at 8:30 and we had coffee and pastries. Oh, how I miss Paris and it's glorious patisseries!

After a nap, and Spencer's more normal workday, we went out to our favourite Chinese restaurant for dinner: hot tea, wonton soup, crispy spicy shrimp, pepper beef, vegetable lo-mein and then orange slices and fortune cookies for dessert. My fortune read "Do what you love and the necessary resources will follow." I am taking that as a call to go forward with etsy and watch how God provides. I also hope it is true (even more so) for Spencer's music dream. He has labored and toiled so many years and I am hoping and praying that God will prosper that dream and honor all his hard work. I will let you know when he has something tangible.

As far as gifts go, our main co-gift was the Ingrid Michaelson concert, but we still got some small things. Or, so I thought.

Between work and running to my parent's house to get Spencer's gift that I have been hiding since the Renegade fair, I got a text message from Spencer which said 'go in the music room.' When I got home, this was waiting for me:

It is on loan from our friend Stevie, who had it tuned up and ready to go before she had Mae last January. She and Spencer conspired to give it to me for the time being so it would be getting good use. I was so overwhelmed and shocked. I have a sewing room! Well, half at least. The other half is full of guitars, amps, pedals, a lap harp, a keyboard, cables...
