friday favourite: fashion mash-up

hello everyone!

it's friday again? I don't know where this week went, and I have accomplished about 4% of my to-do list, but oh well. Some weeks are like that, right? (I am eating a ginormous salad right now, and have walked about 5 miles, so I think my 'be healthier' goal is covered.)

Today, since it is still close to 80 outside, and since I'm wearing my cut off shorts and favorite black tank top while the eastern half of the country is buried in snow (my sister was shoveling parking spaces today for her neighbors- how sweet!), I thought I'd do a little fashion mash-up for Spring!

Here are some recent finds that I love from etsy:

union jack dress by celebfashion

sun kiss by fashionloft

epershand studs by isette

\
vintage safari dress by theparaders

saddle belt by ayaletshachar

french market bag by bayousalvage

Cute stuff, huh?

Ok, I am off to get some acupuncture!!!! SO EXCITED! I've had a knot in my left shoulder for uh, about eight months and my fall down a flight of stairs didn't help. For those of you who have not tried it, I highly recommend it- the acupuncture, not the stairs. And don't say 'ew needles!' It's more like the feeling when your foot falls asleep and then wakes up- but for about 2 seconds. And the results are amazing! Seriously. Well, even if I don't convince you, I'm off to be relaxed and pampered! Then it's pizza making time in the smith household.

I love fridays, don't you?

friday favourite: yellowfield7

feeling like springtime yet?
it definitely is here- more like summer since we hit 85 earlier this week. Oh, palm springs.
spring used to be my least favourite season until,
just like all the songs say, I fell in love.
tomorrow will mark five years (five years!) since that day
that spencer said 'tara noelle, I adore you.'
sigh.
that spring I literally did hear birds singing all the time, and flowers were blooming everywhere
sap sap sap.
now I love spring.
maybe one day I will even live somewhere where buying rainboots isn't absurd.

today's featured etsy shop is
aka 'hats by bahida dolic'
as you may know, i have a love for eastern europe and its people,
so i was happy to find that
behida was born in northern bosnia,
emigrating to america after the war.
but it was in florence that she discovered
her love of early 20th century american fashion
(who doesn't love it?
she studied millinery and now lives
in northern california.

what do you think?
i'm ready to read the great gatsby (again)
and find some vintage vogue patterns.

happy friday everyone!

Friday Favourite: ideeli

Ok, ok, so this is not an etsy shop, but I had to write about it because I think it is so cool.

Has anyone heard of ideeli.com?

According to their website, they are 'the first members-only shopping community in the U.S.' It is 'by invitation only' but I just joined by clicking a paid advertising link on bbc.com (Spencer laughed as my commitment to read world news died in 2.5 seconds when I saw a pretty dress and clicked it).

So JOIN! It is free, easy and why not drool over all sorts of designer items at really affordable prices? Here are some items I was drooling over as I perused the 'events' instead of reading more about the Gulf Oil Crisis...

Awesome books by Random House...

I think I need me some ostrich feathers!

Cool summer tunic dress

Cropped skinny jeans by Michael Kors only $35! I'm tellin' you get OVER THERE!

Have a happy weekend everybody! I am off to nap as I got less than two hours sleep last night, then woke up at 4:15 to go to work. Then it's dinner and movie night with drew and leah (with top shelf tequila, I'm sure) and game night at my parents on Sunday. Happy First Anniversary to Jenny and Michael!!!!

Friday Favourite: Cubist Literature

Happy Friday, everybody!

This has got to be quick- Spencer and I are off to our own personal retreat center (a.k.a. Ed & Margaret's house) in Anza in ONE HOUR! Yippee!!

Today's featured etsy seller is Cubist Literature. An etsy shop run by a guy! There are many out there, but it seems to be a female-dominated arena. Cubist Literature is the creative endeavor of Craig Hunter, 25, who lives in NYC, but is a Texan at heart (I know this will please my Texan readers). He mainly does t-shirts with interesting screenprint designs, but now there are a few other items as well!

If you want to learn more, go to CubistLiterature.com or click here to read the etsy featured seller article.

totes! Kita, you are so happy right now, aren't you?

buttons made from art textbooks!

There you have it! Cool designs at affordable prices.... have a great weekend everyone!
