Autumn is here!

Today is officially Fall Equinox, which should be New Year's Day, I think. What is more exciting than the end of summer (Even if the temperature refuses to go along with it)?
Last week, my brother-in-law flew my sister out for a last-minute trip while he was going to be in Nashville for work. How sweet! I haven't seen her since shortly after their wedding in May, since now she lives in Maryland. It is sad at times, but, absence makes the heart grow fonder. I will admit to singing "Somewhere out there" in my head at times.

As cheesy as it sounds, I really wanted to go apple-picking with Jenny while she was here. We used to go to Riley Farm all the time as kids, and I have many fond memories of caramel apples, rope-making, Revolutionary War costumes, etc... Recent fires and drought (along with a heat spike) made the reality not as wonderful as in my mind, but it was still a fun day. Plus, I had Jenny model my aprons, including my newest plaid one, which she said was very trendy back east, so we named it Eastern Shore (of Maryland) Apron.

Here are some pics of our day:

If this one looks familiar, it's because Sunset just did an article on apple-picking in Southern California and this building is their main picture~

You can see how close they were to destruction by fire- it was literally across the street!

A very Jenny look...
Yum!
My new tea towel. Will be posted soon...

Happy Day! Off to Taco Bell for lunch!
